Phnom Penh Crown face Bati Youth in their first away encounter of the season on Sunday after they began their Metfone Cambodian League campaign with a 3-0 win over Electricite Du Cambodge at home.

The Red Singha were made to work hard to secure three points from Bati Youth thanks to late strikes from Mao Piseth and Pov Ponvuthy, but they appeared to snatch an incredible 12-1 victory at home.

Sum Vanna said his side are 100 per cent ready to snatch another three points as he previews tomorrow’s clash with Bati Youth.

On the team preparation…

We are ready to face them. We have prepared our game plan against them and anticipate how to deal with the hot weather and their pitch. I believe we are 100 per cent ready.

On his expectation for tomorrow’s meeting as Bati Youth gave the Red Singha a tough match at their home last season…

Last season, we performed really well against them [at home], but we had some problems in the first round. Hopefully, we get another three points tomorrow.

On whether Bati Youth are a better side than last season after they earned their first point from a 0-0 draw against Tiffy Army…

A draw between both sides is related to the team preparation. If we don’t prepare well, we will have some problems. If we prepare well, we are likely to win three points.

On his team selection – whether to use a strong line-up or give chances to youngsters…

We know Bati Youth use young players. The youth players have high commitment to play, but they are lack of experience. They, however, link up well as a team, and their team work and counter attack are great. Therefore, we prepare our starting XI to win the match and get nothing less than three points.
