Sok Sovann urges his Phnom Penh Crown teammates to keep their motivation strong ahead of the visit of Soltilo Angkor at the Smart RSN Stadium this Saturday.

With six matches to go, Phnom Penh Crown’s title chance this season is likely over as they sit in the sixth place in the Cambodian League table with seventeen points behind league leaders Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng.

However, Sok Sovann, who captained the team during the Red Singha’s 3-2 win against G.C National Police last week, is still motivated to help his side by following caretaker manager Sum Vanna’s instruction to bring out the positive results for the club.

Phnom Penh Crown suffered a 1-0 defeat to Soltilo Angkor in the first round of the season, so the center-back is desperate to win three points from this Saturday’s encounter to help the club reach their aim of securing a top-4 finish.

Sok Sovann told “I’m confident and ready to face Soltilo Angkor this week, and I will give my best. The most important thing, however, is that we can’t underestimate them

“Of course, we were beaten 1-0 by Soltilo Angkor at their home in the first round of the season, so for this week’s game with them we will do everything it takes to bring out the best result for the club.

“We need to play as a team and apply what the coach has instructed us, and we have faith in our coach, who will decide how we play against Soltilo Angkor.

“We can win or lose the game, but one thing we need to keep in mind is that we must come out with motivation. We need to go forward, and nothing can de-motivate us. We need to give our best.

“I’m happy that the coach has had faith in me and allowed me to captain the team [against G.C National Police], and it is a huge duty on the pitch.”
