Orn Chanpolin has hoped to deploy his impressive experience with Cambodia U22 in the recent AFF U22 Championships that was helped in Phnom Penh, the Capital of Cambodia. Cambodia U22 had a great start to the AFF U22 Championships as they secured a narrow 1-0 win over Malaysia U22 in their opening Group B match before thrashing Myanmar U22 2-0 to book their semi-final spot.

Despite a 2-0 defeat to Indonesia U22 in their final group-stage match, Coach Felix Dalmas’s side topped Group B and faced Thailand U22 in the semi-final, where they were beaten on penalty shootouts following a 0-0 draw after 120 minutes. Orn Chanpolin, however, had a valuable experience to remember with Cambodia U22 even though his side disappointingly went down 1-0 to Vietnam U22 in the battle for the third place. The Phnom Penh Crown midfielder, who also captained the young KoupreyBlues in the tournament, produced a massive performance in Cambodia U22’s central midfield.

With his solid performance, the Cambodia U22 captain had received much praise from the fans with his first touch, ball control, and accurate passes that could play a big part in helping Cambodia U22 reach the semi-final of the AFF U22 Championships. “I’m not satisfied enough with my performance in the recent AFF U22 Championships, but I will try my best to improve,” Orn Chanpolin told ppcfc.com. “I will use all my experience with Cambodia U22 to help improve myself for this upcoming new league season.”

“During our pre-season [matches], we have a good preparation for the Metfone Cambodian League, and we are ready to fight for every trophy this year.” Orn Chanpolin, in addition, is committed to winning the championships with Phnom Penh Crown this season as his target is nothing less than lifting the trophy. “My target this year is to win the championships with Phnom Penh Crown as we haven’t won trophies for around three seasons, so this year is very important for me and the club to win the championships,” said the midfielder.

Orn Chanpolin’s Phnom Penh Crown will welcome their biggest rivals Boeung Ket at the RSN Stadium this weekend in their Metfone Cambodian League opening match.
