Drawn in Group A of the Men’s football in the 2019 SEA Games, Cambodia U22 will battle with host Philippines U22, Timor Leste U22, Myanmar U22, and Malaysia U22 to secure a place in the semi-final of the tournament.
The young KoupreyBlues face the host in their opening group match at the Rizal Memorial Stadium this evening, and Mao Piseth believes that it will be a tough match for his side.
The Phnom Penh Crown striker told ppcfc.com: “I think it will be a hard game for us as we play the host in the opening game. They have a lot of good players, and their physical advantage will make it hard for us to play aerial balls.
“We have a good preparation for the game even though they didn’t give us a good reception, and we need to forget that and only focus on the game.
“Each of us has high commitment because we want to bring out a positive result from our first game. We will do our best and play for the pride of our supporters and nation.”
