Kok Boris lauded Phnom Penh Crown team defense following a 0-0 draw with defending champions Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng at the Smart RSN Stadium on Sunday.

The Red Singha maintain their unbeaten record and top the Metfone Cambodian League table through three wins and a draw from their first four matches, scoring sixteen goals without conceding.

Kok Boris told ppcfc.com: “I’m so proud of all the players. Yesterday, we didn’t play so well for sure, but we played with our heart. Now this is our fourth clean sheet in four games, and this performance is not only about defenders, but mainly about all players in the team.

“The first defender is the striker. When I saw Paul Omogba came to win ball from Privat from thirty meters of football field or when I saw Ideguchi and Chanpolin fight hard like lions in midfield, I can say, ‘Yes, this team is very strong, and this team can make something in the Metfone Cambodian League this year.’

“We didn’t play for ourselves, but for each other, for the team, and with our heart. I’m so glad because I have an amazing relationship with Safy, Baraing, Muslim, and Vichet inside and outside the field, and you can feel this during each of our games. I’m also so impressed about these guys because they are so young, and they are mature to play big game like yesterday.

“For sure, we need to improve a lot because I think our defense is only at 70 per cent of our best capacity, but this is good thing for the future.

“I was so excited and happy thanks to our fans. They were amazing. When the stadium is full with supporters showing their passion, it’s awesome. You can say I live my dream, and I will always be thankful to Phnom Penh Crown for giving me this chance.”
