Phnom Penh Crown welcome league leaders Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng at the Smart RSN Stadium this Sunday, and Sum Vanna is desperate to hand them their first league defeat of the season.

Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng, who are unbeaten in the Cambodian League so far this season, occupy the top spot in the league table with fourteen points ahead of the Red Singha, so Sum Vanna targets three points to reduce the gap from the top.

Sum Vanna’s side have secured six wins and a draw from their last seven league matches at home, so this Sunday’s visit of the Svay Rieng side should be one of the most mouth-watering matches for the supporters from both sides.

The caretaker manager told ppcfc.com: “They are unbeaten in the league so far this season. They have a good preparation, and they have shown a great form too. They play well against big or average teams, but for us we have a chance to beat them at home.

“We are sixth, and they occupy the top spot in the league table, so it will be a big test for us. We will do everything it takes to stop them to reduce the gap.

“If the gap in the league table is not big, it will be interesting, and it is a good motivation for everyone to try. Our league is now more competitive, so we need to try our best to reduce the gap.

“We have a lot of young players in the team, and they still need more experience. If they get more experience, they can improve their confidence, so then they can play well.

“We need to improve their motivation and commitment, and we need to build their confidence no matter who we play. They need to be braver on the pitch.

“We have our target, and we won’t change it. We can change our team tactic from game by game and preparation during the training. We need to encourage our supporters, staff members, and players.

“Our main target against Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng is to stop them. If we can’t beat them, at least we get a draw. They are a really good team in our league, so if we beat them, it will be great to stop them.

“We can’t allow anyone to leave our stadium with three points. For us, against Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng is one of the biggest games this season.

“I encourage all supporters from both clubs to come to the Smart RSN Stadium to witness this exciting game. We will do our best to make sure it is the most exciting game.”
