Phnom Penh Crown welcome Electricite Du Cambodge in their opening Metfone Cambodian League match at the Smart RSN Stadium this Saturday, and Sum Vanna said the Red Singha are committed to snatching three points against the team that use only local players.

The head coach of the Phnom Penh side is pleased with the opening fixtures as Phnom Penh Crown will face Electricite Du Cambodge, Bati Youth, and Asia Euro United.

Sum Vanna told ppcfc.com: “This season, we have better opening fixtures than last season as we face Electricite Du Cambodge and other two teams that we have high hope to win.

“Facing Electricite Du Cambodge should be a great opportunity for us to win three points at home. We are motivated and committed to getting a good result at home.

“Electricite Du Cambodge use only Khmer players, and they have a talented team. From season to season, they have improved, and they play more attacking football unlike last season when they focused much on defense.

“We need to apply our game plan and try to win three points at home even though we face injury crisis.

“We have learned a lot from our friendly matches against big teams, and we are trying to fix our problems. The link from defense to attack has improved a lot, and our technical team is working hard to support the players and make sure they improve.”
