Phnom Penh Crown demolished Asia Euro United 6-0 at the Smart RSN Stadium on Saturday to make it three wins from their first three Metfone Cambodian League matches this season, but Paulo Victor believes the Phnom Penh side need to be stronger ahead of the visit of defending champions Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng.
The midfielder, who returned from an ankle injury, came on to replace injured Esoh Omogba in the first half and made a huge impact on the Red Singha’s attack.
The Brazilian scored one goal and provided an assist on his return. He set up Phnom Penh Crown’s opener with a sublime cross for Timothy Okereke’s header and scored his side’s fifth goal during a superb 6-0 victory over Asia Euro United.
Paulo Victor told ppcfc.com: “I’m happy for my first game because I was able to help my team win the three points. I think I had a good game, but I hope to improve more and more and be able to help my team win every game that we have and will play.
“Our team has been evolving a lot. We had some players who were injured, and now they are all recovered from their injury. I hope we can continue winning and evolving in each game and achieve our goal, which is to keep our winning ways until the end of the league.
“I think we still have a lot to improve as we know that it is a long competition and that there are still a lot of games, so we need to be stronger and stronger in each game.
“Every game is difficult, and we know that their team [Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng] is a strong team that has been winning, but we have our potential to leave our stadium with three points. We hope that all fans will come to support us to motivate us in this great League encounter.”
