Unstoppable Va Sokthorn scores five goals as Phnom Penh Crown thrash Kampong Cham 10-0

Phnom Penh Crown bring ten goal advantage into the second leg of the Hun Sen Cup round of last 16 with a brilliant display that saw them demolish Kampong Cham with a superb 10-0 victory at the Smart RSN Stadium tonight.

Despite a great dominance in the first half, Phnom Penh Crown were made to work hard before scoring two quick goals within a period of four minutes. Va Sokthorn broke the deadlock as he slotted home to put Phnom Penh Crown in front in the twenty-eighth minute.

Four minutes later, Brak Thiva doubled Phnom Penh Crown’s advantage with a fabulous left-foot strike inside Kampong Cham’s penalty area after the midfielder received a low cross from Mao Piseth.

Mao Piseth then made it 3-0 for Phnom Penh Crown just four minutes into the second half as he headed home after Pov Ponvuthy’s early effort was denied by the cross bar. Va Sokthorn bagged his second goal with a fabulous free-kick before he completed his hat-trick in the sixty-second minute to help Phnom Penh Crown lead by five goals.

Yue Safy scored his first Phnom Penh Crown goal of the season with a great header to give Phnom Penh Crown an easy 6-0 lead before second-half substitute Sath Rozak’s diving header made it 7-0.

Kampong Cham were reduced to ten men as Chantha Alafin received his second yellow card after the defender fouled on Phnom Penh Crown striker Seng Saravuth inside his own penalty area, and a penalty was also rewarded to Phnom Penh Crown.

Va Sokthorn finished it nicely from the penalty spot before Lim Pisoth bagged Phnom Penh Crown’s ninth goal in the stoppage time, and unstoppable Va Sokthon got his fifth goal of the match to secure a tremendous 10-0 victory over Kampong Cham.
