Um Vichet is confident that Phnom Penh Crown are strong enough to face big teams in the Metfone Cambodian League after his side drew 0-0 with defending champions Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng at the Smart RSN Stadium on Sunday.
A 0-0 draw with the Svay Rieng side is the Red Singh’s fourth clean sheet in a raw, and the goalkeeper is happy with his current team performance that sees Phnom Penh Crown occupy the top spot in the league table after Week 4.
Um Vichet told ppcfc.com: “We are happy even though we couldn’t beat Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng. As you know, we really want to win three points at home. We created a lot of chances against Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng, but we were not lucky to score.
“I think everyone did their job. We played well as a team in all areas, so thanks for their hard work. We feel even better, and we are more confident to go into the next matches even though we will face tough teams in our next fixtures.
“Clean sheet is what every goalkeeper wants, so I will do my best to defend the net for our team and supporters. We are capable enough to face big teams, so we must apply our ways of playing football.”
