Phnom Penh Crown return to the Cambodian League following the international break as they entertain Electricite Du Cambodge at the Smart RSN Stadium this weekend.
The Red Singha thrashed Prak Vuthy’s side 5-0 in their first league encounter of this season, though Sum Vanna has urged his side not to underestimate this Saturday’s visitors.
The Phnom Penh Crown caretaker manager wants to see his side play with high tempo as he expects nothing but three points against the twelfth-placed side.
Sum Vanna told ppcfc.com: “Against Electricite Du Cambodge won’t be an easy game for us. I think it will be a tough game. They are the only team that use only Cambodia’s local players. They secured a draw against Boeung Ket in the first round of the season, and they play very well against several big teams, too. We need to focus on the game with them.
“Some of our players joined the national team during the international break, but for them their players have trained together during the break, so they can benefit from it.
“We will do our best and try to focus on the game as our target is to get all three points this week. Some of our players get injured, but we have some other players, who can play. I think it is not our big concern.
“We defeated them in the first leg at their home, so for this weekend’s clash at our home I’m sure they will try to focus more. We can’t make mistakes when we face them because they are the team with good preparation and play with high team spirit.
“We target three points as we usually play well at home. We must put high commitment in this upcoming game to achieve our goal.”
