Sum Vanna is hopeful that five Phnom Penh Crown players including Saveng Samnang, Yue Safy, Seut Baraing, Orn Chanpolin, and Mao Piseth will get more experience with Cambodia in the international stage.
Cambodia face Pakistan on a two-legged competition in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers preliminary round, with the first leg held in Phnom Penh that is the Capital of the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Goalkeeper Saveng Samnang, center-back Yue Safy, left-back Seut Baraing, midfielder Orn Chanpolin, and forward Mao Piseth have all been training with the Cambodia National Team since June 3rd ahead of this evening’s clash at the National Olympic Stadium.
The KoupreyBlues have only three days to prepare the first leg tie with Pakistan, who the Phnom Penh Crown caretaker manager believes are the better side in terms of physical strength, experience, and tactic.
Sum Vanna told ppcfc.com: “It is a great chance for our young players to test the international match and also to know the local players who play in the Metfone Cambodian League 2019.
“I hope they can get more experience and improve their participation for the national team as they could be a role model for other young players. They, of course, have a short time to refresh from club’s atmosphere.
“I think they will get some more experience because club have more time to prepare than the national team in terms of fitness level, tactic, and strategy.
“It will be a tough game for the national team as in my opinion Pakistan have more quality players at high level. Some of their players have experience in playing in Europe, and they have better physical and tactical preparation too. I think it will be pretty hard for Cambodia to beat Pakistan.”
