Phnom Penh Crown face Chiang Rai United this evening in the last eight of the 2020 Leo Pre-season Cup with the absence of several players the like of Kok Boris, Brak Thiva, and Andres Nieto due to injury and Visa issues.
Sum Vanna, however, has not expressed any big concerns as he believes he has good replacements for this evening’s pre-season clash.
Sum Vanna told ppcfc.com: “We know we face the champions of Thailand [Chiang Rai United] after they won the qualification game in the Leo Pre-season Cup. We have prepared the team for this game since seven or eight weeks ago. We have also played Kedah FA, who play in the AFC Champions League.
“There is not too big a gap between Thai club and Cambodian club. This is the game to get experience and prepare our team, so there is no pressure – we will only do our best.
“We want to reach the next round, so no doubt we will give our all. They play in Thailand’s top tier, but that’s not a worry for us. We have two legs and one heart, so on the pitch who can capitalize on their chances will likely win the game.
“At the moment, it’s not easy for me to select the starting XI as our players have similar quality. Andres Nieto hasn’t joined the team due to visa issue, but it’s not a big issue for us losing several good players [ahead of this evening’s game].”
