Sum Vanna is hopeful that Andres Nieto can quickly adjust himself to the new style of play at Phnom Penh Crown as well as adapt to the foods and weather in Cambodia after the attacking midfielder agreed a deal with the Phnom Penh side yesterday.
The 23-year-old signed a contract with the six-time champions of Cambodia to make himself as the first Columbian to play in Cambodia’s top flight. He is also the second foreign player to join the club this season following the arrival of Esoh Omogba from Naga World.
Sum Vanna was impressed by Nieto’s performance as he scored two goals in two friendly matches during his two-week trial before signing for Phnom Penh Crown.
Sum Vanna told ppcfc.com: “Nieto has joined Phnom Penh Crown after a two-week trial with us. He played two friendly matches with us, and I can see his great understanding with our players. He has a good relationship with his teammates on and off the pitch.
“I hope he can adapt to the foods, weather here, and especially our style of play quickly ahead of the new season. I believe he is a quality player, who can help us achieve our goal this upcoming season.”
