After receiving a successful knee operation in March, Sok Sovan can do some exercise during his recovery sessions as he is working hard to get back on the pitch.
The center-back sustained an injury on his left knee during Phnom Penh Crown’s pre-season friendly match against Soltilo Angkor, which saw him ruled out for the rest of the season.
During the absence of Sok Sovan, Kok Boris partners Yue Safy in the heart of the Red Singha’s defense, and the duo has helped the club register a great defensive record this season.
The center-back told ppcfc.com: “I always follow the medical advice from the doctor as I want to recover as soon as possible. I am allowed to have some exercise during the second month after the operation, and the doctor told me I can play 100 per cent in the next eight or nine months.
“I feel very sorry that I cannot help the team in the league, but I think Safy and Boris are doing a great job as you know we could keep a clean sheet against Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng who have a lot of great strikers. I think we don’t have a big issue in our defense.
“I think they both are still lack of communication on the pitch, and if they can improve it, no doubt our defense would even be stronger.”
