Shane Booysen: We need to work extra hard for the clash with PKR Svay Rieng

Shane Booysen has urged his Phnom Penh Crown teammates to work extra hard before the visit of Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng at the Smart RSN Stadium this Sunday.
The visitors top the Cambodian League table and are undefeated so far this season, so the African striker is desperate to stop them and win three points after a disappointing 4-3 defeat to Visakha last week.
Phnom Penh Crown were beaten 5-1 by Conor Nestor’s side in their first league encounter of the season, but the 30-year-old insists that the Red Singha are now a much better side as they have yet to lose a single league match from their last seven matches (six wins and a draw) at home.
Shane Booysen told ppcfc.com: “Every game is important for us. Since I joined Phnom Penh Crown, I have tried to work hard every day and give my best in every game, and so does the whole team.
“This week is even harder. You know Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng is the team that top the table, so we need to work extra hard. We are working really hard as we dropped some points last few weeks, so we need to pick up points.
“We need to handle the game like every other game. We have already fixed all the mistakes we made in the previous games. We are looking better, and by the time the game comes, we are ready.
“It will be a big advantage to play at home. Last week, we lost to Visakha, and it was not easy for us as the pitch and the environment were different. Away game is difficult, but we have a home game this week.
“We lost in the first leg, but now we are much stronger and more competitive. We will give them a good game as it is our home, and we have our fans who are always behind us.
“I think we can give them a good game as you know football is very unpredictable, so we can never predict what the game is going to be like. With the quality that both teams have, it should be a very interesting game. We can’t let them come and take points from our home, and I don’t really think so.
“We will give the best that we can do. If we win, we take the three points. If it is a draw, it’s a draw. We can’t let them win easily, so it’s very possible that we can stop them from going unbeaten.
“I have been involved in many goals, but I thank my team as we are working on it. I came back to Phnom Penh Crown because the players can understand me and understand how we play. I will always give my best, but for sure there can be more that I can give to the team. I will try to be better all the time. If I can perform well to help my team, I’m happy as I want to win more and more games for the team.
“We are ready, and we are playing good football. We have quality in all areas, so I don’t think we will struggle. We have some experienced players and young players, so I think the team will be better. I hope this week we can go out and give a good performance to win three points.”
