Phnom Penh Crown had a great start to the new Metfone Cambodian League season before the Coronavirus pandemic that saw all football tournaments suspended without definite return date.
The Red Singha snatched four wins and a draw from their opening five matches to top the league table as they are the only side in Cambodia’s top flight not to concede a single goal.
Seut Baraing is hopeful that his side can keep their momentum and encourages his teammates to work harder than the opponents to clinch the Metfone Cambodian League title this season.
The left-back told ppcfc.com: “It’s never easy to be the champions, but if we want to be the champions, we need to sacrifice and work hard. Everyone is ambitious to win trophy, so we need to work harder than them to win trophy. We have a great start this season, so we must keep our momentum.
“I have individual training in the afternoon, and I usually run 4.5 kilometers each time. After that, I do some exercise to keep my body well-built, my weight, and my muscle. I also apply some techniques to keep my pace.
“It’s very important for players to maintain their energy, so they need to have regular individual training to keep their fitness level high. I believe most of professional players are aware of this thing.
“If you keep training, you can keep yourself in shape even though you don’t play. You can get ready for team training anytime. You will lose your energy easily if you don’t train enough.
“During this time without games or team training, if you are a professional player, I’m sure you know what you should do. If you are careless, there will be a consequence, and it can badly affect your career. Individual training is very, very important for a player.”
