Phnom Penh Crown were beaten 3-1 by Visakha at the Smart RSN Stadium last week, with Phnom Penh Crown left-back Seut Baraing insisting that his side must learn from their mistakes. Da Cruz’s brace and second-half substitute Tith Dina’s late strike saw Visakha run out 3-1 winners against host Phnom Penh Crown, while Brazilian forward Paulo Victor pulled one back for the home side. Phnom Penh Crown’s defense was not at their best during the first half of their second defeat at home as they were two goals behind at the half-time break. Meanwhile, Leonardo Vitorino still has work to do with Phnom Penh Crown’s attack after they missed several opportunities in front of the opponents’ goal.
However, Seut Baraing believes that the Red Singha’s season is not over yet, but urges his side to work harder in all areas to challenge for the league title this season. “We need to learn from our mistakes and work harder to get the results,” the 19-year-old left-back told ppcfc.com. “Our season is not over, and we still have chances to fight for our target of the season. We must give our best in the next matches. “Our team defense in the first half was not good enough as we allowed the opponents to play with the ball so easily. More importantly, we didn’t play the way our coach wanted us to play. “In the second half, we received more instruction from our coach. We applied what the coach had told us to do. We tried very hard to put pressure on them to get goals, but the result was not in our way.”
Phnom Penh Crown will travel to Svay Rieng for another big league clash with league topper Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng on April 21 as there is no league action this week due to the celebration of Khmer New Year (Cambodia’s New Year).
