Pov Ponvuthy reckons Phnom Penh Crown as his second home after he signed a long-term contract extension with the club on Thursday last week.

The striker is grateful to the club where he has spent many seasons with since he was their academy player.

The 21-year-old born is aware of how tough it is for him to break into the Red Singha line-up as he needs to challenge for a place with several quality foreign players, who have better physical.

He, however, is committed to fighting for his place as he aims to get more playing time and does everything he can to help the club achieve their targets this season.

Pov Ponvuthy told ppcfc.com: “I’m happy to sign new contract extension and to remain at the club for many more seasons. I would like to thank everyone at the club for their trust.

“I am always grateful to Phnom Penh Crown, and it’s from the bottom of my heart. At Phnom Penh Crown, it’s like a family, and I think it’s my second home.

“I will try to fight for my place and get more games next season. It won’t be easy especially with my physical, but I am aware of what I must do to improve. I will try to work hard, but it’s down to the coach as he is the one who makes decision about who will play and who will sit on the bench.

“We didn’t have great seasons in the recent years, nor did we win the league. We will try our best to achieve our target and make the club capable to challenge with other clubs.”
