Phnom Penh Crown fought hard, but they ended up losing 4-3 to Visakha tonight.
Phnom Penh Crown had a slow start through Visakha’s early press before Da Crus opened the scoring to put Visakha ahead as he headed home from Sary Matnorotin’s corner kick. Few minutes later, Paulo Victor tried a long range strike, but it went wide.
Paulo Victor produced a brilliant individual skill to edge past Visakha left-back Chheng Meng before firing an effort that was pulled away by Cambodia international goalkeeper Keo Soksela.
Dzarma Bata, who ran tirelessly from one end to another, headed wide from Brak Thiva’s cross before Paulo Victor unleashed a powerful effort from distance, but it was only denied by the cross bar.
Ajayi doubled Visakha’s advantage with two minutes before the half-time break as he picked up the ball from Chheng Meng’s shot before hitting the ball into the top right corner.
Phnom Penh Crown got two great opportunities just before half-time. Left-back Seut Baraing made a sensational dribble into Visakha’s penalty area before sending an effort that was blocked by Keo Soksela, and Paulo Victor’s effort from the close range was wide over the cross bar.
Mao Piseth, who came on to replace Brak Thiva in the second half, sent out a cross that went through Ouk Sovan and Keo Soksela, but Paulo Victor was not quick enough to tape the ball into the net.
Mustafa Zazai pulled one back for Phnom Penh Crown in the fifty-eighth minute before Paulo Victor smashed it home into the top corner to make it 2-2.
However, Visakha bagged two quick goals to restore their lead to 4-2, with the goals coming through Ajayi and second-half substitute Sin Kakada. Dzarma Bata scored in the stoppage time, but that’s not enough as Visakha claimed a narrow 4-3 win.
