Paulo Victor is unsure whether he is fit on time to face Bati Youth this Sunday as he is advised not to take full training yet despite joining the team training for a few sessions.
The striker missed Phnom Penh Crown’s 3-0 victory over Electricite Du Cambodge in the opening Metfone Cambodian League match at the Smart RSN Stadium last week due to ankle injury he picked up during the Leo Pre-season Cup in Thailand.
The Brazilian’s injury needs to be assessed till the match-day whether he is available for this Sunday’s away clash with Bati Youth, who he thinks will give the Red Singha a tough match.
Paulo Victor told ppcfc.com: “I still don’t know because yesterday I went to the clinic to check how my injury was, and the doctor asked me to wait another 3 days to come back to full training. So far, I have trained my physical parts for a few days already. Physically, I already feel better.
“I was sad to be out against Electricite Du Cambodge. It’s an important game for me to get more confidence and to continue helping Phnom Penh Crown, but I am happy that we won the first 3 points.
“It’s always good to start winning, but there are still a lot of games ahead. We know that we need to improve a lot so that we can dream about the league title this season.
“We know it will not be easy because there are no easy games in the league competition, and their team is strong at home. They also have the habit of playing in this hot weather [at 3:30 pm], so we need a lot of attention in the match to score goals and bring the 3 points home.”
