Ouk Sothy claims that he can’t wait to face Angkor Tiger at the Smart RSN Stadium in the Metfone Cambodian League (MCL) meeting that Phnom Penh Crown are desperate to win three points.
Phnom Penh Crown were beaten 4-0 by Angkor Tiger in their last MCL encounter at the Smart RSN Stadium, so the midfielder urges his side to take last season’s bitter defeat as a motivation to beat tomorrow’s opponents.
Ouk Sothy told ppcfc.com: “It’s a very important game for both sides. They also want to win three points, and for us we desperately need three points. It’s also the match I am always looking forward to, and I want it to happen as soon as possible.
“Last season, we were very disappointed as we lost to them at home. They took all the points at our home last year, but for tomorrow’s game we are ready to face them.
“They are a very good team, and they have a quality [foreign] striker. They are really good with counter attack, but we have prepared well to face them. We will play with high team spirit and apply what we have trained.”
Phnom Penh Crown’s defenders including Ream Serng and Yue Safy are tasked to deal with Okereke Timothy, who is on a good form. The Nigerian has scored fifteen goals for Angkor Tiger this season, however, Ouk Sothy points out that his side are ready to stop the Angkor Tiger striker.
Ouk Sothy said: “He [Okereke Timothy] is a very good striker. He is tough and tall, so he is a very dangerous striker for tomorrow’s game. We have been training hard, and we have also found ways to deal with him.
“We are doing well in our recent games, and we are in a very good shape too. I think we will play with 200 per cent to beat them. A win over Angkor Tiger is a must for us as we really want to beat them and get the three points.”
