Orn Chanpolin claims that he and his teammates are ready to fight in tomorrow’s clash with Pakistan in the second leg of the 2020 FIFA World Cup qualifiers first round to send Cambodia into the next round of the qualification stage.
Cambodia bring two-goal advantage into the second leg after they produced a fantastic performance to seal a 2-0 victory in the first leg at home last Thursday, with the goals coming through Seang Chanthea and Kouch Sokumpheak.
Despite two goals and a clean sheet, Orn Chanpolin, who featured in full ninety minutes for Cambodia in the first-leg win, urges his side not to write off Pakistan, who he believes will give Cambodia a tough second leg encounter.
Tomorrow’s decisive encounter between both sides will be held in Qatar, where Cambodia’s national team squad arrived few days ago. After a few training sessions in Qatar, the Phnom Penh Crown midfielder expresses his concern over the hot weather and time zone.
The second leg kick-off time is 11.00pm that is a late night in Cambodia, and it is also the bed time for most of Cambodia’s local players, who will need to deal with such an unusual playing time.
Orn Chanpolin told ppcfc.com: “I don’t think we are safe despite a 2-0 win from the first leg as anything can happen in football. I believe Pakistan will do everything they can to beat us.
“It’s hard for us because we need to deal with several difficulties including the weather condition and time zone. So far we are not used to the weather here yet.
“I’m very ready to do my best for the team and my country if I am selected to play. We have a good preparation, and we also have high commitment for tomorrow’s game.”
Orn Chanpolin is not the only Phnom Penh Crown player, who is with Cambodia National Team as goalkeeper Saveng Samnang, Seut Baraing, and Yue Safy are also ready to help their national team for tomorrow’s important clash.
