Mao Savin was left disappointed after Phnom Penh Crown Women’s team were beaten 2-0 by Svay Rieng Women’s team in the Women’s Football Tournament final yesterday afternoon.
The head coach of Phnom Penh Crown Women’s team, however, was impressed by the great effort her side had put in against the defending champions.
Mao Savin also paid tribute to the traveling fans for their support as Phnom Penh Crown Women’s team finished as the runners-up, which is the best achievement so far in the history of the club.
Mao Savin told ppcfc.com: “I am very disappointed that we can’t win the title, but we will work harder next season if we have another chance to join the tournament. Our players did do their best this season. They gave their all even though they knew that it would be really hard to play Svay Rieng.
“They have learned from their mistakes from game to game, but our weakness is our attack like what you saw in the final. We created a lot of chances in front of the opponents’ box, but we failed to capitalize on the chances we created.
“I hope that we will be able to improve it and work hard to reach the level we have aimed for.”
