Mao Piseth has explained the team commitment after Phnom Penh Crown were beaten twice in a row and secured only six points from six Metfone Cambodian League matches.
The Red Singha had a tough night in Svay Rieng, where they went down 5-1 to Preah Khan Reach Svay Rieng on April 21 before losing 3-0 against Nagaworld last week.
Mao Piseth, however, said that the team are ready to fight for the results and committed to win three points this Sunday, when Phnom Penh Crown welcome G.C National Police at the Smart RSN Stadium.
“G.C National Police are a good team, so we have to do our best to win the game and get three points for the club and our supporters,” the forward told ppcfc.com.
“Our team still have high commitment to give our best in each game we play, so I hope that we can get back to winning ways.”
Phnom Penh Crown announced the departure of Leonardo Vitorino on Tuesday and named assistant head coach Sum Vanna as their caretaker manager to replace the Brazilian coach.
Sum Vanna, who coached CMAC United and Western Phnom Penh in 2016 and 2017 respectfully, joined Phnom Penh Crown in November last year and has worked closely with the team also.
Therefore, Mao Piseth is hopeful that the 38-year-old caretaker manager will be able to rebuild the team that can allow them to compete to bring back exciting football for the supporters.
“Coach Sum Vanna is trying hard to fix the issues that the team had in the previous three or four games, and hopefully this will be able to help the team,” the 19-year-old said.
“He has explained us a lot, and we understand his instruction.
“With the great support from our fans, it can boost our motivation during the game.”
