Lim Pisoth is grateful for a chance to play in Cambodian League and Hun Sen Cup with Phnom Penh Crown last season, which he thinks can improve his form and boost his confidence during the recent AFC U19 Championship qualifiers with Cambodia U19.
Cambodia U19 secured second place in Group G as they snatched three wins over Northern Mariana Islands U19 (9-0), Thailand U19 (2-1), and Brunei U19 (3-0), but narrowly lost 4-5 against Group G winner Malaysia U19.
Lim Pisoth, who made two appearances against Northern Mariana Islands U19 and Brunei U19, scored three goals and provided three assists in the AFC U19 Championship Qualification campaign.
The Phnom Penh Crown attacking midfielder, who was deployed as a defensive midfielder for Cambodia U19, hopes to get more game time for the Red Singha in the Cambodian League next season after pulling off a great performance with Cambodia U19.
Lim Pisoth told ppcfc.com: “I have improved, and I’m satisfied with my performance during the AFC U19 Championship qualifiers. At the same time, I must work harder to improve my stamina as my energy is not there yet.
“I got some chances to play in the Cambodian League and Hun Sen Cup, so it made it a bit easier for me to improve myself. I also scored some goals and made several assists for the club, so it boosted my confidence.
“I think if I had played as a striker or attacking midfielder, I would have scored more goals. I played as a defensive midfielder, so it’s hard for me to go forward and score goals.
“I hope with my current form and improvement I will get more game time in the Cambodian League with Phnom Penh Crown next season.”
