Orn Chanpolin is proud to captain Cambodia U22 in the recent SEA Games men’s football in Philippines as the young KoupreyBlues finished fourth in the tournament.
Cambodia U22 failed to secure bronze medals after they were beaten by Myanmar U22 on penalty shootouts, but the Phnom Penh Crown skipper said it is a new achievement for Cambodia U22 to advance to the semi-final of the tournament. The 21-year-old is hopeful to deploy his SEA Games experience to make a step forward ahead of the new league season with Phnom Penh Crown.
Orn Chanpolin told ppcfc.com: “We can say that it was a new achievement for us that we had played six games as we planned, but we were disappointed with the result that we could not receive any medals.
“I’m proud to be a part of this team that I can play all the games, but it’s very difficult and stressful to play all the games as it requires good physical care, energy, and recovery for other matches.
“I got many things to learn from SEA Games. Each game is different because they play different style and tactics, so you have to be flexible in each game. This experience will help me to improve into new season. It’s not enough for me. I still have many things to learn more.”
