Chea Chandara has fully recovered from injury that kept him out of action last season and already made a few appearances during Phnom Penh Crown’s friendly matches ahead of the new season.
The 20-year-old, who previously played as a defender, will be deployed as a striker this season, and he is pleased with his new role as he expects new challenges following his return from a long-term injury.
He also calls on the supporters to come to the Smart RSN Stadium this Saturday for the Red Singha’s opening Metfone Cambodian League match against Electricite Du Cambodge.
Chea Chandara told ppcfc.com: “Last season, I didn’t play even a single game due to injury, but this season I am fully fit. I have returned to training with the team. The coach gives me chances, so I need to give 100 per cent on the pitch.
“I have no problems, switching my role to striker because the coach has instructed me the new role, and for me I need to put more attention.
“Of course, I have just recovered from injury, but contacts on the pitch won’t be a big problem to me as it is football. Maybe it’s harder to play as a striker.
“I’m grateful to our supporters for their support, and I hope to see more supporters coming to the Smart RSN Stadium to cheer for us.”
